Dental Bridges
Dr. Nichols may recommend a dental bridge to replace one or more missing teeth. A dental bridge is a prosthetic tooth that's anchored in place by crowns on adjacent teeth. We may also place crowns on adjacent dental implants depending on your specific situation.
Why is Replacing Teeth Important?
Tooth replacement helps avoid shifting of surrounding teeth into gaps. If left untreated, structural changes to your mouth and jaw may occur. This can cause you difficulty with eating, speech, and other functions.
As the name suggests, a dental bridge "bridges" the gap in your smile. The result is a healthy, attractive smile that you’ll be proud to show to the world.
Benefits of Dental Bridges
A dental bridge is custom-made to match your natural teeth in color, size, and shape. We use strong and durable materials for your restoration. With appropriate at-home and professional care, your dental bridge may last for years.
What to Expect
The dental crown procedure takes two visits to our office. During your first appointment, we'll need to file down the teeth next to the empty socket. That way, your dental bridge will be able to fit over top.
Next, we'll take impressions of your teeth to send to the lab. The lab will then use these impressions to create your custom dental crown.
Your dental bridge will be ready when you arrive for your second appointment. Dr. Nichols will ensure that the bridge is the perfect size, shape, and color. He'll then bond the dental bridge in place so you can leave our office with a beautiful smile.
